Allergy Testing

There are 2 tests giving us a total of 24 of the most common allergens, 12 of which are Inhaled Allergens the other 12 being Food Allergens.

The test is decided based on the individual requirements of the patient or it may be necessary to have both tests performed where appropriate.

The test involves a sample of blood being taken from the patient by a simple finger prick to obtain 2-3 drops of blood.  The procedure itself only takes a few minutes but it is sometimes necessary to take a detailed history from the patient to determine the most appropriate test for them.

The blood sample is then processed within 24 hours of the sample being taken and a report is prepared and sent to the patient within a couple of days.

A follow up consultation is arranged as required to discuss;

  • Findings
  • Referral (as required)
  • Treatment regime
  • Arrange for further testing of allergens not included in the screening test.

A quantitive laboratory test may be required to confirm the results.

It is necessary to book an appointment for this test.

Auricular (ear) Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture is the utilisation of acupuncture points found in the ear.   If you look at the shape of the ear you may see that it is representative of an inverted foetus and it has been recognised that appropriate stimulation of the relevant points in the ear stimulates the associated body part.  Acupuncture is an ancient medicinal practice that originated in China. The name comes from the Latin acus, or “needle”, and from pungere, or “prick,” and involves the insertion of superfine needles into specific points on the body. Once inserted, the needles can be manipulated to stimulate the body for healing effects.

Phytotherapy

Phytotherapy, also known as herbal therapy is a broad term used to refer to any type of healthcare treatment with the use of fresh or dried herbs. The herbs may be utilised in a variety of  formats including liquid extracts or tinctures, fusions or teas and topical creams.   One of the most widely recognised herbs is Echinacea, used to  promote the function of the immune system.

Computerised Thermographic Imaging (CTI)

CTI is a non-invasive procedure used to screen the body using an infra red camera. It has been used to detect the early signs of breast cancer, this, up to ten years before other procedures.

The early detection of any abnormalities of the breast is very important. Reports have shown that pain may not be experienced until a cancer has reached an advanced stage. Natural Healing Dublin advises all women to carry out monthly self examinations and if any lumps, bumps, discharge from nipples or if the nipple becomes inverted to report them to your G.P. as soon as possible. Research has demonstrated that early intervention results in increased success rates in treatment.

Mammogram is the traditional method of detecting breast cancer. However it is not indicated in routine screening for women under the age of 50. Also there is an exposure to some radiation during the process which carries its own risks. CTI can lead to an early pre-diagnosis of breast pathology. Research has shown that this procedure can indicate the early stages of cancer development up to 10 years before it is detectable by Mammogram! CTI can be carried out routinely for women from the age of 20 & form part of a preventative approach to Healthcare.

The process is entirely non invasive and can reveal early warning signs of a developing pathology known as "Malignant Angiogenesis". This term is used to describe the development  a blood supply to suspicious lesions. Cells are not necessarily cancerous at this stage, but it is the best time to initiate medical intervention to increase to possibilities of a successful outcome.  CTI is part of a tiered approach to the identification of suspicous lesions, starting with regular self examination, scheduled clinical examination, age appropriate CTI screening.  Abnormal findings found at this stage is followed by ultrasound, mammography and biopsy as indicated or recommended following the findings at respective screening.  The earlier a CTI is carried out the earlier a baseline for comparison is established.

Live Blood Analysis (LBA)

LBA can demonstrate the quality of blood together with the presence of other substances present in the serum.  The procedure is surrounded by controversy and on its own can never be diagnostic.  A small drop of blood is taken from your finger, placed on a slide and examined under a special high resolution microscope. It is possible for you to see what is seen under the microscope as there is a camera mounted on top of the microscope and a picture is sent to a monitor for you to view. The Healthcare Practitioner will discuss what is seen and will give an indication as to what is observed in the blood of the patient.  The Healthcare Practitioner may also make recommendations as to appropriate referral, further testing, diet, supplementation and lifestyle changes based on what is seen.

Your Blood can reveal the following;

  • The Presence of Cholesterol
  • The potential for gout through the presence of uric acid
  • Anaemia
  • The Potential for Blood Clots also known as Thrombosis
  • The proliferation of Yeast / Candida
  • Nutritional Deficiencies, i.e. Vitamins / Minerals
  • The Presence of Chemical Toxins
  • The Presence of Heavy Metal Toxicity
  • Bacterial / Parasite Activity
  • Early recognition of Degenerative States
  • Problems with Circulation
